Keith Urban’s biography

Full name: Keith Lionel Urban
26-10-1967
Born in New Zealand, raised in Australia.

Keith Urban playing guitar when he was around 6 years old.
He didn’t only play guitar, but he also followed acting- and singing courses at a theater school in the neighborhood.

He soon discovered he had a preference for country music. He really liked artists as Don Williams and Carrie Underwood. Later, he discovered the band Dire Straits, and the guitar playing of the lead guitarist kind of hypnotized him. Since Keith really liked Dire Straits, he started to learn all the licks and solo’s etc. of this band, and kept on developing his guitar skills.

Those artists were the inspiration of Keith’s own music style nowadays; Country rock.
Country rock is country combined with classic rock, with the accent on the lead guitar.
The special thing about this style, is that the style wasn’t mainly developed by many guitarist, but just by special one, which is in my opinion the hardest thing of being a musician; developing your own style, and making others like it.

Keith Urban’s break-through was in the 90’s with his first album, called ‘Keith urban’
After the release of this album, he started performing a lot, and many more albums followed;

1991 Keith Urban
1997 Keith Urban (II)
2002 Golden road
2004 Be here
2005 Days go by
2006 Love, Pain, and the whole crazy thing
2008 Greatest hits
2009 Defying gravity
2010 Get closer
2013 Fuse

5.)   Sweetest thing
6.)   Making memories of us
7.)   Who wouldn’t wanna be me

Keith Urban’s latest album ‘fuse’ has just been released. The special thing of this album is that Keith Urban has pretty many songs with other artists. None of the songs of other albums are songs featuring somebody.

Right now, after the release of his album, Keith Urban is busy making an own series  of guitars.
Those guitars are made that way, they’re perfect for the songs of Keith Urban; those guitars have a sharp country sound, and are easily playable for the solo’s in his songs.
